One Cited After 3-Vehicle Crash

One driver was cited after a 3-vehicle accident with injuries at Highway 23 and Cooper Avenue South Saturday night. An investigation revealed that 22-year old Caitlin Murphy of Saint Cloud was eastbound on Highway 23 when she was distracted on her cell phone and drove through a red light.
Her vehicle struck a pickup truck driven by 21-year old Avery Findlay of Saint Cloud which in turn struck a third vehicle driven by 29-year old Jason Chantler of Saint Cloud.
Both of those vehicles had been traveling southbound on Cooper and after the impact the pickup rolled on its side. Murphy, along with Findlay, driver of the Ford Ranger, suffered minor injuries. Both refused medical treatment. Murhpy was cited for inattentive driving and semaphore violation and released from the scene.
