ST. PAUL (AP) - Metro Transit officials say a St. Paul police officer caused a collision between his squad car and a Green Line light-rail train when he ran a red light.

A Metro Transit report said Tuesday that the officer drove too quickly to give the train conductor time to react, causing the Nov. 3 crash.

Police say Officer Pil Jeon was responding to a call of a stolen car with his lights and siren on but he didn't stop at the intersection. He was taken to a hospital with neck and back pain. No one on the train was injured. Train service was disrupted briefly.

Metro Transit says officials won't cite Jeon or pursue charges against him. St. Paul police say an accident-review board will decide whether to recommend disciplining him.
