ST. CLOUD -- The Federal Aviation Administration will officially announce Friday which of the nation's air traffic control towers will be closed because of the sequester.

The mandatory $85-billion in spending cuts is expected to close St. Cloud Regional Airport's control tower. But, Airport Director Bill Towle says they have filed an appeal to keep the tower open.

In fact, Towle says the closures were to be announced Monday, but the large number of appeals pushed back the announcement to Friday.
