NWS: August 2016 A Wet Month

UNDATED - August 2016 will be remembered as an unseasonably warm month, with abundant rainfall.

It was the 2nd wettest August on record in St. Cloud, and the 6th wettest in the Twin Cities.

Two daily rainfall records were set in St. Cloud during August, and the airport recorded the 5th highest rainfall amount in a 24 hour period since records began in 1893 on August 29th.

In addition, Eau Claire set a daily rainfall record on August 11th.
