FRIDLEY  (AP) - Metro Transit officials say Northstar commuter rail service has resumed after a weekend freight train derailment in Fridley.

Northstar resumed service Tuesday afternoon, carrying home commuters who took buses to downtown Minneapolis in the morning.

But Metro Transit says customers could still see some delays as freight train activity returns to normal on the track shared with Northstar trains.

The Fridley station has reopened and will be served by Northstar trains Tuesday afternoon. Regularly scheduled weekday Northstar service is expected to resume Wednesday.

Special service to the Twins game will not run Tuesday night. But a special Twins Northstar train is expected to serve Wednesday's 12:10 p.m. game.
