MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — First lady Michelle Obama is coming to Minnesota Friday to meet with National Guard families.

The trip is part of her Joining Forces initiative, which supports military families.

A White House official says the first lady will take part in a round table discussion about Minnesota's best practices that can be used nationally.

Military families and children who take part in the Defending the Blue Line program will meet Mrs. Obama at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.

She also is scheduled to speak at a Democratic National Committee fundraising event at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis.
