WASHINGTON, D.C. - An organization based in Minnesota was part of Vice President Joe Biden's meeting today (Wednesday) on gun violence.

Heather Martens is the Executive Director of Protect Minnesota: Working to End Gun Violence.  She says she would like to see more required background checks.

Biden met with representatives of victims of gun violence and gun safety groups -- part of a series of meetings he's holding this week in an effort to reach an agreement on proposals to curb gun violence.

Protect Minnesota is based out of St. Paul and has been around for 20 years.
