ST. CLOUD - Eating less, moving more, and drinking alcohol - those are some of the secrets for living longer.

Tony Buettner is a spokesman for "The Blue Zones: 9 Lessons for Living Longer". He says they've identified a handful of pockets around the world - called blue zones - where people are living measurably longer.

He says here in America 68 percent of the population is overweight, but we can start reversing that trend just by moving more...

Buettner says for the first time in history our children have a shorter life expectancy than we do.

He says in most of those zones they typically enjoy alcohol in moderation.

Buettner says they are usually drinking that alcohol with family and friends, which is also a secret to living longer.

CentraCare Health is hosting Tony Buettner this Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at the Joy Christian Center in St. Cloud.
