News @ Noon: ‘Night of the Stars’ Showcasing Talent in District 742 [AUDIO]

ST. CLOUD - The 14th annual "Night of the Stars" benefit for the St. Cloud Area School District is this weekend. The shows will be at 7:00 p.m. both on Friday and Saturday night at the Paramount Theatre in downtown St. Cloud.

The event is a fundraiser through the Local Education and Activities Foundation. Executive Director Bruce Hentges says they don't have a fundraising goal, other than to raise as much money as they can.

Hentges says LEAF has awarded over $1.1 million in grants to various programs in District 742 since it was founded in 1996. He says the money raised is used for grants throughout District 742.

Hentges says LEAF has recently started two new funds, one for the language immersion program and one to help support homeless students in the district.
