ST. PAUL - The multi-year State Capitol restoration project is in the home stretch. Department of Administration Commissioner Matt Massman says the project has been underway for three years now.

It's the largest asset preservation project in the state's history. The Capitol opened in 1905, and this is the first significant restoration of the Capitol since that time.

Massman says it will be completed by the end of this year, and the State Capitol will reopen to the public next year.

The total cost for the project is $310 million.

You can learn more about the project, Massman will be here in St. Cloud on Wednesday speaking at a forum open to the public. It will be at 5:30 p.m. at the St. Cloud State University Welcome Center on 5th Avenue.

Note: This is a location change from the library to the Welcome Center, due to the fire at the library last week.
