EDEN PRAIRIE - We're on the back half of winter, but there's still time to check out the Ice Castle in Eden Prairie.

Creator Brent Christianson says they're open seven days a week, but they offer special fire performances on the weekends.

The ice castle in Eden Prairie is one of four that Christianson's team have created this year, the others are in Utah, Vermont, and New Hampshire.  He's been making them since 2010.

He says they grow it from the ground up, and it takes about four weeks to create. When it's done there's a series of tunnels and slides, and it's all very interactive.

It's the first time the Ice Castle has come to Minnesota, but they're hoping to bring it back again next year. He says he loves Minnesota because of our cold winter weather, and because Minnesotans love to celebrate winter. He says they've had some big crowds this winter, especially on the weekends.

The Ice Castle is expected to be open through most of March, depending on the weather.

Hours:
Sunday – Thursday – 2pm to 9pm
Friday – 2pm to 10pm
Saturday – Noon to 10pm
