New York Gyro Opens Second Location on North Side of St. Cloud [VIDEO]

ST. CLOUD - A popular St. Cloud gyro restaurant has opened a second location on the north side of town.

New York Gyro has now opened their new restaurant at 3310 3rd Street North. New York Gyro first came to St. Cloud in 2012. The current location near University Drive South will continue to run normally.

The restaurant serves New York-style gyros, pita sandwiches, rice dishes, kebabs and burgers.

Qamar Shahid is the owner of New York Gyro, he says the new location is much bigger and will be able to seat more customers for events.

"A lot of people were asking us when we were going to open a bigger spot. The other location we have is more like a fast food setting with not much [of an area] to sit down."

Shahid says the new location will allow them to serve more customers on the north side of town.

"On the south location we are mostly serving students. We [also] have people in Sartell and Waite Park, so this was the main reason we wanted to cover this area as well."
