ROCKVILLE -- It's been 15 years since 9/11, but still, the nation has not forgotten the fallen heroes.

Today (Sunday) a new veteran's monument was unveiled in Rockville, on a day where we are reminded as a nation to come together.

The monument had names of veterans, fire and rescue workers, law enforcement and across from it stood an I-beam from the 9/11 World Trade Center site.

As we remember the lives lost, today was also a chance for the Willard family to show their daughter a part of her grandfather she can hold on to.

"It's pretty cool said Willard's daughter, I never got to really meet my grandfather, and I don't really remember him. This is a good way to remember him as I can"

When Jim Willard lost his brother Bob, he and his family decided to start a foundation in his name. Through the foundation, the family was able to donate money to add the names of their family members on the monument.

However, they did not only think of themselves. When they heard another veteran did not have enough money to get his name on the monument. They gave and honored him, along with their family members today.

So as we remember all those who serve our country every day, may we use today as a chance to come together, and not forget the ones gone.
