ST. JOSEPH -- A new traffic light will be installed in St. Joseph later this year after the Stearns County Board approved it today.

The traffic signal will be installed at the intersection of County Roads 75 and 2.

County Engineer Jodi Teich says when the new County Road 2 bypass was built, they knew a signal would be needed eventually. But, a handful of serious crashes moved up the traffic count study.

The $250-thousand traffic signal will be paid for through the county's state aid dollars. Teich says it could be up and operational this winter.
