ST. CLOUD - Law enforcement agencies in Central Minnesota have formed a new crime fighting task force.

The "Central Minnesota Violent Offenders Task Force" will start operating in January.  It will replace three task forces that are in place right now: The Central Minnesota Drug and Gang Task Force, St. Cloud Gang Unit, and the St. Cloud Metro Gang Strike Force.

St. Cloud Lieutenant Jerry Edblad will be the commander.

The Task Force will be made-up of officers from all of the St. Cloud metro area police departments, the Little Falls PD, and deputies from Stearns, Benton, Sherburne, Todd and Morrison Counties.
