SARTELL -- After years of planning and months of construction Chateau Waters in Sartell is finally complete.

The new 180,000 square foot senior housing facility provides a resort style atmosphere right away when you walk through the front doors.

"We really built in what this next generation of seniors were asking for," says St. Benedict's Administrator of housing and community services Robin Theis.

This is the first facility of it's kind in the area. Theis says when it came to designs, they took the best part of each St. Benedict's facility.

"It's been years of experience of learning what our tenants like and what they wish would be a little different. So we were able to make this a 'wow' building with all that data," says Theis.

Chateau Waters offers around-the-clock home care services, pickleball court, heated pool, movie theater, full-service spa, a chapel and several dinning varieties.

Chatea Waters Administrator Paul Metzler says he's heard many residents say it has already blown their expectations.

"They keep saying it far more exceeded expectations from renderings, following us through construction, finally seeing it come full circle they are really excited about what they see," says Metzler.

Theis says while many of their 72 apartment homes have filled up they do have a few rooms still available.

"A large number of residents have moved in but we encourage people to come in a visit us and find out more what we have to offer," says Theis.

The 55-plus senior apartment building will hold an official Grand Opening on August 23rd from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. located at 960th 19th Street South in Sartell.

Chateau Water is owned by CentraCare Health and operates similar to the St. Benedict's Senior Community.
