New River Bats Owners to Rename Team [AUDIO]

ST. CLOUD – The River Bats minor league baseball team has a new owner, and soon they’ll have a new name.
The Northwoods League introduced Gary Posch and Joe Sexton as the new owners of the team today (Wednesday). They bought the team from Joel Sutherland who had been the team’s owner since they moved to St. Cloud in 1997.
Posch says they’ll be rebranding the team, to make a fresh start.

Sexton says he plans to play a big role in the marketing an promoting of the team. They say hiring a new General Manager is also a priority for them.
They will continue to play their games at St. Cloud’s Joe Faber Field. Their home opener is June 2nd.
