UNDATED - A non-profit organization that specializes in outdoor experiences is looking for kids to join their program.

"Fishing For Life" is starting a new program called "Next Gen", which is a mentoring program that matches outdoors enthusiasts with children.

And the kids are specially designated kids. They are military families who have lost a loved one, either mom or dad was serving overseas they may have passed away as a result of the war or be incapacitated that they can't really do much with outdoor stuff.

Executive Director Tom Goodrich says kids from military families all across the state can sign-up.

They plan to provide 10-15 outdoor experiences each year.

Also, he says if you're an outdoorsman - or woman - and you want to be a mentor, you can contact them as well.
