RICE -- A sweet treat is coming to Rice this summer.

Fudgin Delicious Ice Cream & Hom Decor is planning to open their second location inside the former Twin Pines Restaurant along Highway 10.

Owner Anne McKeehan says it was her parents idea to open a second store.

"Since Twin Pines closed they were like, you should open a restaurant. So we came up with a deal and we're going to rock and roll with it and see how it goes," says McKeehan.

The 3,100 square-foot building will not only have up to 40 different flavors of Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream, but also provide home decor such as candles, signs and other furnishings.

McKeehan says while the combination may seem unusual, it's worked for her.

"It's fun stuff. It's ice cream, it will make you happy when you eat it. Then you can walk around the store and maybe buy stuff," says McKeehan.

The first Fudgin Delicious store in located in Big Lake. McKeehan says she hopes to add an outdoor patio in the future.

Fudgin Delicious is expected to be open by early June. Twin Pines Restaurant closed in 2015.
