SAUK RAPIDS -- Gluten-Free baking isn't something new, but one Sauk Rapids resident is taking her passion for baking to another level.

Jessi Brinkman has always had a passion for baking gluten-free desserts with her small business Sweet Nature. Her passion now leads her to a new adventure by opening up a Gluten-Free Commerical Kitchen in Sauk Rapids.

"My husband and I over the last couple of years have been looking for a space we can open up to other small business in the community so they have an opportunity to make their food in a safe place and sell to different stores," says Brinkman.

Mixin' It Up, which will occupy for former Flying Pig Pizza building, is a 100% Gluten free kitchen available for rent where you can create your goods without the major overhead expenses of starting your own kitchen.

Brinkman says the lack of rental kitchens and the amount of people who suffer from gluten allergies is what lead her to embark on this new adventure.

"In Minnesota I think there are only three rental kitchens that have this same concept, however their are none that I know of in Minnesota that are actually 100% gluten free kitchens," says Brinkman.

Brinkman says bakers will also be able to sell their products in the front of the store.

If you are interested in renting the kitchen you contact Brinkman by emailing at jessi@sweetnaturemn.com or by calling 320-267-9504.

The building is being completely remodeled inside and should be open by mid-August.
