ST. CLOUD - A new advisory board created to oversee the River's Edge Convention Center will hold its first meeting today (Wednesday).

The seven member board is made-up of people who have an expertise in the hospitality and conventions industries.  St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis says the creation of the board was one of the recommendations made by an independent consultant, after the expansion of the building was completed.

Kleis says they've also hired Tony Goddard as a part-time section director to help guide the advisory board.

Kleis says, he'll "direct and oversee not only the advisory board, but the facility as we move it forward. Tony comes with a lot of expertise as a former chair of the Convention and Visitors Bureau, and as somebody who has run the Paramount Theater keeping it in the black, which is rare for a theater."

The River's Edge Convention Center Advisory Board will hold their first meeting at 5:00 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the Convention Center.
