ST. JOSEPH - New business-apartment developments are coming to St. Joseph next year.

The development will be in two parts, the Bayou Flats and Alley Flats and both will be located off of College Avenue.

Colleen Petters with Collegeville Properties says the Bayou Flats will be a New Orleans-style building with an authentic New Orleans-style restaurant.

The restaurant is also set to feature a stage for live musical performances. The stage could be used to attract more national acts to perform in the area.

The Bayou Flats will be located at 24 College Avenue. The design will be similar to the "shops and lofts" concept found in downtown St. Joseph, local businesses will occupy the lower level of the building with apartments located on the second and third floors.

The Alley Flats is the second component to the development and will feature four condos. The building will include a roof top deck for each unit and heated underground parking.

Collegeville Properties is the developer of the project and will finalize its plans with the city of St. Joseph during a meeting on September 23rd.

Petters says they plan to have the Bayou Flats opened on June 1st 2015 and that they're currently accepting reservations for apartments.
