NEW BRIGHTON -- A Minnesota bakery is recalling about 873 pounds of meat pies that were not federally inspected.

The pies were made by Solomon Snacks and Bakery of New Brighton and were shipped to retailers in Illinois and Minnesota.

The USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service said yesterday (Saturday) the pies also were misbranded and contained undeclared allergens such as eggs, milk and wheat.

The beef, chicken and turkey pies were produced from February to May of this year. The pies are in 5-ounce packages as well as unlabeled Styrofoam boxes lined with wax paper.

The federal agency says there are no reports of anyone getting stick from eating the pies. Customers who bought the pies should not eat them but instead throw them away or return them to where they were purchased.
