ST. CLOUD -- National Night Out has been bringing neighborhoods across the country together for over 30 years.

For the last five years the Northeast Wilson Park Neighborhood Association (NEWPNA) has been throwing a neighborhood party for St. Cloud residents.

Wilson Neighborhood resident Carolyn Garven says they wanted to do something that would bring people together.

"It's really neighbors seeing neighbors and they've been coming for about five years and they continue to look forward to it," says Garven.

From 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. this (Tuesday) evening, residents can enjoy food, games, contests and meet your local police and fire departments.

St. Cloud firefighter Kyle Gammell says its important they are seen in the community.

"This is a good opportunity to get out in the community and meet the people," says Gammell. "Also its fun to meet the kids and show them the truck."

Neighborhoods throughout central Minnesota will hold a variety of entertainment. St. Joseph is hosting a free outdoor movie event at Millstream park starting at 9:00 p.m.

Garven says the neighborhood enjoys the annual celebration and look forward to what the next year brings.
