Nancy Belle Pennings was born in Pipestone, MN on March 10, 1951 during a blizzard, an event that would forever shape her life to strive for warmer climates. She grew up in Holland, MN and graduated from high school in 1969. She went on to obtain a Cosmetology degree from Stewart's School of Hair Styling in Sioux Falls, SD and worked in Marshall, MN.

She worked for Independent Information, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, and for a period, operated a private daycare service. She also dabbled in antiques and had a space at the Buffalo Nickel in Buffalo, MN. Her true passion though, was acting as entertainment director for her friends and family.
In 2006 they purchased a second home in Sun Lakes, AZ and became primary residents in 2015, still spending the summer months in the St. Cloud area. She was a charter member of the Central MN Noon Optimist Club and served in many roles including President in 1993-94, attaining Distinguished President status. She also was a proud member of DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution).
