ST. CLOUD -It may sound like an odd combination, but music and robotics are joining forces for an upcoming concert at St. Cloud State University.

Students are working together and learning how to construct musical robots for an upcoming concert on Saturday. Guitars, drums and xylophones were all on hand during the workshops for students to use with their robots.

Acclaimed composer and St. Cloud State graduate Troy Rogers was instructing students during the workshops. He says music and art are the main goals during the event.

"In all of this, the main thing is that we're focusing towards making music," Rogers says.

Rogers adds that the hands on learning experience is a great way for students to learn about both robotics and music.

"It's very much on the pulse of what the kinds of educational experiences that we should be exposing students to," Rogers says.

The concert will feature a robot orchestra with all the newly built robots from throughout the weekend. The show takes place on March 1st at the Performing Arts Center on the campus of St. Cloud State University.
