November 6, 1925 - August 31, 2014

 

Muriel Olson, age 88, of Princeton, MN, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 31, 2014 at her home. She was born on November 6, 1925, in Bogus Brook Township, the third youngest daughter of 13 children of John and Jeanette (Barber) Davenport. Muriel grew up in Bogus Brook Township on the family farm until her teens when she moved to Minneapolis during World War II. During that time she worked as a nanny and at the Swedish Hospital until she was united in marriage to Alfred Olson on January 10, 1946. The couple lived in Minneapolis until 1958 when they moved back to Princeton. The couple was blessed with four children. Throughout her life, Muriel enjoyed gardening, sewing, bird watching and taking care of her home and family. Muriel especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Muriel will be remembered as a humble, kind, gracious lady who never complained and was never selfish. She had a strong faith as the Lord was the center of her life. She leaves her family and those who were lucky to know her a remarkable legacy.

Muriel is survived by her children, Robyn (Rodney) Young, Becky (Gary) Hogren, Yvonne (Jim) Julik and Liz Stevenson; 9 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; siblings, Lloyd Davenport, Glen Davenport, Amber Olsen and Kenneth Davenport; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Alfred; 3 grandchildren, Peggy Eggert, Robby Eggert and Holly Olson; 6 sisters and 2 brothers.
