DULUTH (AP) - A murder defendant who has fired two public defenders is representing himself in a Sixth Judicial District courtroom.

That's led to some contentious moments between the defendant, Joshua Lee Littlewolf, and Judge Shaun Floerke who has warned him to stop making arguments during questioning of a witness.

The 42-year-old Littlewolf is on trial for second-degree murder in the stabbing death of Joshua Olson at a downtown Duluth apartment in April of 2012. Littlewolf says he was involved in an altercation with Olson, but was not the one who fatally stabbed him.

The man who rented the apartment and a former suspect in the murder took the stand on Tuesday and testified he was highly intoxicated and passed out the night Olson was killed.
