SAUK RAPIDS -- It was a sloppy game full of penalties but that didn't stop the Granite City Lumberjacks from defeating the Wisconsin Whalers last night (Friday) 5-1.

The Lumberjacks held the Whalers' offense well below their season average (3.5 goals per game).

Kendall Meyer rejected 14 shots on goal for the Lumberjacks.

Granite City got goals from Mitchell Gwost, Tobias Gabrielsen and Tanner Skaja.

The Lumberjacks will host the Whalers again tonight (Saturday) at 7:30 PM in Sauk Rapids at the Rhino Deck Rink.
