Multiple Fraud Scams Surfacing in Sartell
SARTELL -- Sartell police are warning you of multiple fraud scams circulating over the past few days.
In one scam, a resident received a phone call from their niece saying she was in jail and needed $2,000. When officers went to the niece's home they found she was fine and never made the call.
In the second scam, the resident received a phone call saying her husband won $775,000 and the caller wanted them to go to Western Union and get the green slip. The caller then wanted a call back with the control number to collect the money owed.
The resident realized this was a scam and didn't comply.
In both incidents senior citizens were the target of the fraud attempts.
Police are reminding you to never give out personal information.
