ST. CLOUD - Slick roads led to a mess on the Granite City Crossing in St. Cloud this (Tuesday) morning. St. Cloud police say the multi-vehicle crash happened just before 7:00 a.m.

A pick-up driven by 25-year-old Carlos Zamora of St. Cloud was heading west across the bridge when he lost control of his vehicle, crossed over the median, and collided head-on with a car. That vehicle was driven by 55-year-old Lynn Kampa of St. Cloud. Conditions were extremely slippery at the time.

Two other eastbound cars were also struck. One of those vehicles was driven by 24-year-old Kelli Mrozek of Waite Park.

Kampa taken to St. Cloud Hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries. Mrozek taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Zamora also had minor injuries.

A total of 10 vehicles were involved in the chain reaction crash. Six vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

The bridge was closed in both directions for about an hour. Metro Bus provided shelter for those who needed to get out of the cold.

Zamora was given a ticket for failure to "drive with due care".

The St. Cloud police department is asking you to slow down and be cautious of slippery road conditions, especially when approaching intersections and/or crossing bridges and overpasses.  The city does have sanding trucks out trying to improve the conditions.
