MOORHEAD - Minnesota State-Moorhead is saying no to hockey.

University President Edna Szymanski says the school has fallen short of its money-raising goal, and the idea of Division I Men's hockey has been shelved for now.Minnesota-State was looking to come up with $37 million from private sources.

Szymanski says with the state giving the school less money, now is not the time to add another sport.
Talk of hockey at MSMU first surfaced a couple of years agao.
There are currently five Division I hockey programs in Minnesota, St. Cloud State University, the University of Minnesota, Minnesota State-Mankato, the University of Minnesota-Duluth, and Bemidji State University.
