MOORHEAD, Minn. (AP) - A brief lockdown has ended at Minnesota State University Moorhead following a bank robbery near campus.

A university spokesman said authorities notified school officials around noon Monday of the robbery at a Hornbacher's grocery store in Moorhead. Authorities told the university the man was heading in the direction of campus, which is about five blocks away. Police say a gunman robbed a Wells Fargo Bank branch inside the store and escaped with cash.

Reports say the store is about 10 blocks away from Concordia College, which put out a safety alert but did not carry out a lockdown.

Both schools received the all-clear 15 minutes later when authorities told them the suspect had left the area.
