ST. CLOUD -- The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency issued an air pollution advisory for the eastern two-thirds of the state.

The advisory includes parts of central Minnesota and is in affect through Noon today. The alert says strong temperature inversions, snow melt and morning fog are trapping particles and creating the pollution.

The MPCA issues alerts when the air quality reaches unhealthy levels for sensitive groups or reaches an air quality index more than 101.

People at risk include those with pre-existing cardiovascular or respiratory disease, the elderly, and people who participate in extended physical activity indoors and outdoors. You can check out the latest air quality conditions by going to mn.enviroflash.info.
