Motorcyclist Hurt After Hitting A Semi in Kandiyohi County

HAWICK -- A Big Lake man is hurt after hitting a semi Monday morning in Kandiyohi County.

The incident happened just before noon on Highway 23 at 115th Street Northeast in Burbank Township, near Hawick.

The Minnesota State Patrol says a semi, driven by 43-year-old Michael Armstrong of Paynesville, was heading west on Highway 23 approaching 115th Street Northeast.

A car in front of him stopped to turn left onto 115th Street. The semi locked up its breaks, causing it to skid and rotate into oncoming traffic in the eastbound lane.

A motorcycle, driven by 49-year-old Lonnie Lapolice, was heading east on Highway 23 when he hit the back of the semi.

He was taken to HCMC with non-life threatening injuries. Armstrong was not hurt.
