MORRISON COUNTY - A Motley man is hurt after hitting a deer on his motorcycle Thursday afternoon.

The incident happened at 2:20 p.m. on Dove Road, south of Bear Road near Randall.

The Morrison County Sheriff's Office says 67-year-old James Mattson was traveling north when a deer ran out in front of his motorcycle. He hit the deer and was ejected.

Mattson was taken to St. Gabriel's Hospital by ambulance with unknown injuries. The motorcycle was totaled.

The Morrison County Sheriff's Office was helped at the scene by the Scandia Valley First Response Team, Randall Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance.
