Montevideo Man Expected To Plead Guilty In Weapons Case

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - A Minnesota militia member facing weapons charges in what the FBI once called a "terror plot" is expected to plead guilty.

Twenty-five-year-old Buford Braden Rogers was scheduled to go on trial next week on four counts, including charges related to possessing Molotov cocktails. Instead, a change of plea hearing is now set for Friday.

Rogers is not charged with terrorism.

Authorities have said he was part of a tiny militia plotting to blow up the Montevideo police station. At the time of his arrest, FBI officials said they believed they stopped an attack in its planning stages.

According to an interview transcript, Rogers told the FBI in May he was not violent and didn't know of anyone planning an attack. He allegedly said he was trying to investigate bad people.
