Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Assumption Catholic Church in Eden Valley for Monica C. Huschle, age 97, who passed away Tuesday at Cherrywood of Richmond. Rev. Jerome Naduvathaniyil, OSB will officiate and burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Eden Valley. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Assumption Catholic Church in Eden Valley and one hour prior to the services Saturday also at the church. Eden Valley Senior Citizens will pray at 4:30 p.m., followed by Assumption Christian Women at 5:00 p.m. and parish prayers at 8:00 p.m. all Friday at the church in Eden Valley.
Monica was born Nov. 30, 1917 in St. Nicholas to William & Teresia (Schreiner) Theis. She married Lawrence Huschle on May 8, 1947 in St. Nicholas. Monica was a homemaker and she worked at Apco in Paynesville and Animal Fair in Eden Valley. Prior to her marriage she worked in housekeeping at the St. Cloud Hospital for 11 years. She was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Eden Valley and a former member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Eden Valley prior to its closing. Monica enjoyed quilting, playing bingo, gardening and playing cards especially 500 and 500 Rummy. She was very spiritual, kind, loving, quiet, hardworking, and fiesty.
Survivors include her husband, Lawrence of Richmond; children, Thomas (Carole) of Richmond, Lona (Elmer) Brutger of Eden Valley, Dorothy (Al) Brutger of Eden Valley, Lucille (Vern) Brutger of Watkins, John (Jane) of Sutton, AK, Dale (Deborah) of Eden Valley and Grace (Stuart) Lonning of Aberdeen, SD; brothers and sisters, Roman Theis of St. Paul, Alphonse (Alice) Theis of Cold Spring, Marie (Ralph) Nistler of St. Cloud and Rufina (Sylvester) Jagielski of Rogers; 23 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Monica was preceded in death by her parents; twin sister, Veronica Kaeter; brothers, Stephen, Edwin, Alfred and Joseph Theis; and 3 infant brothers.
