MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Officials with Minnesota's health insurance exchange say the system appears to be off to a smooth start on the first day of open enrollment for coverage that starts in 2015.

MNsure went live at 8:00 a.m. Saturday for its second open enrollment season.

MNsure spokesman Joe Campbell says no major issues have been reported, and they already have reports of people successfully enrolling in health plans.

He says around 1,000 people were shopping on the system around 10:00 a.m.

Campbell also says waits for help from the MNsure call center are running under a minute.

MNsure got off to a difficult start when it first launched in October 2013 due to problems with the website and long call center waits.

Officials expect a much better consumer experience this year.
