MnDOT To Unveil New Hwy 15/CSAH 120 Interchange Design
ST. CLOUD -- Construction on a new intersection at Highway 15 and Stearns County Road 120 in St. Cloud is set to get underway in 2012. The Minnesota Department of Transportation is holding a public meeting tomorrow where you can learn more about the design.
MnDOT Project Manager Claudia Dumont says it is a diverging diamond interchange. Dumont says County Road 120 will pass over Highway 15. County Road 120 includes diverging lanes to prevent left-hand turns. She says it allows motorists to exit and enter via ramps rather than left turns.
The interchange design is the first one of its kind in Minnesota.
The $17.5-million cost will be paid for with state grants and $3-million in local matching dollars.
The meeting will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the MnDOT offices at 3724 12th Street North.
