ST. PAUL -- Road construction season is returning and you should expect some traffic impacts on Interstate 94 and Highway 15 in central Minnesota this summer.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation says I-94 bridges over Highway 15 will be resurfaced starting in April and continuing through August. The project will require lane closures.

I-94 will be resurfaced along a six-mile stretch east of the County Road 159 interchange in Collegeville and County Road 75 merging intersection west of St. Cloud. The project will run from May to September and will prompt traffic to be reduced to one lane in each direction.

Highway 15 will be resurfaced from Division Street in St. Cloud to Benton Drive north of the Mississippi River in Sartell. The project includes adding or extending turn lanes and will be completed between may and August. While the project is mainly overnight work, you should expect lane closures, lane shifts and possible detours.

Finally, work will continue on a new Highway 24 bridge in Clearwater. That project has minimal traffic impacts because the existing bridge will remain open. The new bridge is expected to open in June 2018.
