UNDATED -- The Minnesota Department of Transportation is advising no unnecessary travel for parts of Central Minnesota including Stearns, Benton, Sherburne, Todd, Morrison and Wright counties.

Blowing and drifting snow is encroaching on driving lanes. Officials are asking you to avoid areas that are susceptible to drifting snow until the winds subside.

Crews are working to clear the roadways but MnDOT is asking drivers to check road conditions, be patient, stay back at least five car lengths behind a plow and slow down.

You can get the latest updated road condition information by calling 511 or by going to MnDOT's website.
