ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Top Republican lawmakers are flying around the state Tuesday talking up the session that ended a day earlier without a budget deal.

House Speaker Kurt Zellers, Senate Majority Leader Amy Koch and others departed from St. Paul on Tuesday.

They are making stops in Rochester, Mankato, Moorhead, Brainerd and Duluth.

Deputy Senate Majority Leader Geoff Michel (mish-ELL') says the Legislature's work is "incomplete" but he and other Republicans say public opinion is on their side as they stand against new taxes.

Democratic Gov. Mark Dayton is expected to veto the GOP-led Legislature's budget and call lawmakers back for a special session to pass a compromise budget.

Dayton wants to raise income taxes for the top 2 percent, while Republicans say the state has enough money.
