Missing Man’s Snowmobile Found In West Fargo River

WEST FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Officials are searching the Sheyenne River in West Fargo for a missing snowmobiler.

Police in West Fargo say friends of 34-year-old Cole Schwindt reported him missing Tuesday night when he failed to meet them to go snowmobiling. Divers later found the snowmobile submerged in the river.

Authorities believe the snowmobile plunged through thin ice or into open water.

The search for Schwindt was suspended Wednesday evening, but it is expected to resume Friday. It was not immediately clear why no search will be conducted Thursday.

Schwindt is from Moorhead.
