Minor Injuries After Semi Rear-Ends Pickup in Stearns County

MELROSE TOWNSHIP – A semi rear-ended a pickup last (Monday) night near Melrose.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Department says the incident happend at about 9:45 p.m. on County Road 13 in Melrose Township.

Both vehicles were heading north when the semi came upon the pickup pulling a trailer load of straw, was not able to slow down in time, and struck the pickup and trailer.

The driver of the pickup was 57-year-old Lyle Johnson of Brooten.  His passenger was 21-year-old Laura Johnson of Brooten.  The driver of the semi was 35-year-old Patrick Thull of Sauk Centre.

Laura Johnson and Thull were both taken to Melrose Hospital with minor injuries.
