Minnetonka Man Charged in Woman’s Death on Cass Lake
CASS LAKE (AP) - A Minnetonka man has been charged with criminal vehicular homicide in the death of an Eden Prairie woman who was thrown from a boat on Cass Lake in northern Minnesota.
Authorities say 46-year-old Matthew Kinghorn had been drinking Saturday while driving the boat that carried his wife, 3-year-old son and 50-year-old Brenda Larson. A criminal complaint says the boat was going 25 mph when it hit a wave, throwing the driver, his son and Larson overboard.
Nearby fishermen rescued Kinghorn and his son. Larson was taken to shore a short time later, and she was later pronounced dead at an area hospital.
The complaint says a preliminary breath test showed Kinghorn had a blood-alcohol content of 0.125.
It was not immediately clear if Kinghorn has an attorney.
