ST. CLOUD - Athletes from every corner of Minnesota will converge on the St. Cloud area over the next two weekends.

The annual Star of the North Games expect over 5,000 participants over the two weekends.  And the total number of people coming to town is estimated to be close to 10,000.

Barclay Kruse is the Executive Director of the games.  He says this weekend's volleyball tournament will be using several gyms.

Kruse says the games will provide an economic impact of $1.8 million for the St. Cloud metro area.

This is the sixth time St. Cloud has hosted the Star of the North Games, we hosted the first games back in 1988, and the next time we'll get the games in town in is 2014.
