ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Minnesota Agriculture Commissioner Dave Frederickson is leading a trade mission to Vietnam and Thailand starting this week.

The department says the focus will be on feed. The eight-member delegation, which leaves Tuesday, will include representatives of feed and feed ingredient companies as well as stakeholder groups.

The main goal is one-on-one meetings between Minnesota suppliers and potential importers. The group will also visit a feed mill, attend an aquaculture conference, host networking receptions and coordinate an educational event for livestock producers.

The department says this will be its third feed mission to Southeast Asia since 2011. The first Vietnam mission resulted in $14 million in sales after 12 months; the 2012 mission to the Philippines and Indonesia resulted in sales of $3.8 million after 6 months, with 12-month data forthcoming.
