ST. CLOUD -- For those of you planning to drink this Thanksgiving weekend you better think twice before getting behind the wheel.

The Minnesota State Patrol is adding extra law enforcement this weekend to crack down on drunk driving-related crashes.

Sgt. Jesse Grabow is with the Minnesota State Patrol and says they need everyone's help this weekend to make sure the roads are safe.

Sgt. Grabow says extra enforcement will begin this afternoon and go until the start of the new year.

The State Patrol reminds you that a DWI offense can result in the loss of license, thousands in costs and possible jail time.

If you do witness a drunk driver this weekend recall as much information as you can and immediately dial 9-1-1.

The Minnesota State Patrol says Thanksgiving Eve (today) is historically a popular party night.
