MANKATO (AP) — Minnesota State's hockey team is ranked No. 1 in two national polls after a weekend sweep of Lake Superior State.

The Mavericks rose to the top of the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine College Hockey Poll after being ranked fourth last week.

Minnesota State is also atop in the Division 1 men's poll released Monday by USCHO.com. The Mavericks were rated fourth in that poll last week.

It's the first time the Mavericks have been ranked first in the nation in the history of the men's hockey program.

Minnesota State stand 16-4-1 overall and has gone 11-1-1 in its last 13 games. The Mavericks play a couple of WCHA road games at Ferris State Friday and Saturday.
